The Zain Professional League is the premier league in Saudi Arabia. Al Fateh wins the league title with the team first ever championship. In the end of the Season 2008–09 the league was called ''Saudi Professional League'', but the league name has been renamed to ''Zain Professional League '' and the name stands for a mobile telephone provider called Zain which is now become an official sponsor of the premier league. The fixture schedule was released on 23 June 2012.〔(Zain Fixture Scheudle )〕 Al-Shabab were the defending champions, having won the previous 2011–12 Zain League season. The season featured 12 teams from the 2011–12 Zain League and two new teams promoted from the 2011–12 First Division: Al-Shoalah and Al-Wahda who replace relegated Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Ansar. ==Qualification and Prize money== The Top three teams of the league plus the winner of Champions Cup will qualify for the AFC Asian Champions League. The Top six teams will qualify for Champions Cup. and The bottom two teams in the end of the season will be relegated.
